Director of Social Work

Valley Forge Christian College is currently seeking to fill an Assistant Professor position for the 2014/2015 academic year to serve as Director of the Social Work Program. The Director of Social Work position involves three hours of release time and nine credit course teaching load. The position is a nine-month contract.  Preferred start date for this position is August 1, 2014.

 The Social Work Program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.  The BSW program prepares students for generalist social work practice and graduate school.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership in program management.
• Collaborate in developing faculty workloads, advisory board coordination and developing course schedules.
• Coordinate regular program meetings and participate in College departmental meetings.
• Develop collaborative relationships with units in the College and represent the program to the College and community.
• Provide leadership in strategic planning and achievement of program goals and objectives.
• Enhance relationships with professional organizations and maintain the accreditation with CSWE.
• Work collaboratively with the Director of Field Education, adjunct faculty and peers within the Behavioral Sciences Department.
• Serve as a spiritual model through Christian lifestyle and daily Chapel attendance.
• Be committed to the College’s mission of preparing individuals for a life of service and leadership in the church and in the world.

Qualifications:

• MSW from a CSWE accredited program.  Doctorate in Social Work preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skill.
• Record of successful teaching experience at the college level.

Valley Forge Christian College is part of an international network of Assemblies of God colleges and universities.  As an educational resource center, the College prepares Pentecostal leaders according to Luke 2:52 – intellectually, physically, spiritually, and socially.  Membership in an Assemblies of God Church is required.
