Ministering Through the AirwavesAs a Valley Forge Christian College student, Harry Pressley '82, would never have guessed that his sermons would one day be heard hundreds of miles away. But when God opens a door, sometimes He opens it through the airwaves.

Along with serving as the lead pastor of Calvary Chapel Bellmawr in New Jersey, Pastor Harry is also the founder of The Shepherd's Heart, a radio program that airs every Monday through Friday from 4 - 4:30 pm on Hope FM 90.5. The program reaches listeners in Baltimore, Ohio, and as far north as New York and Maine.

Pastor Harry is an expositional verse-by-verse preacher, a concept that was first introduced to him by former VFCC professor, Hobart Grazier. His radio program consists of his edited Sunday sermons, which take his listeners through the Bible one verse at a time. At the end of every program, he tells his listeners about the ministries at Calvary Chapel Bellmawr and gives them the opportunity to call the church if they need help.

For Pastor Harry, the stories of the radio program's impact don't stop. He continually gets calls from his listeners, sometimes two or three a day. He especially remembers a phone call he received one evening from a girl who was on her way to commit suicide, but pulled to the side of the road when she heard, on The Shepherd's Heart, that she had hope. She came to church the following Sunday and has been attending ever since. Many people also hear about the church's Free Indeed addictions program and call to learn more.

Harry and his wife share an incredulous excitement of what God is doing through the church and radio ministry. They enjoy being a part of the unique ways that God is using them to share His word, and they look forward to all that He has in store for their future.
