Stephen Fava '07 was made for ministry. As a student, his participation in ChosenMade For Ministry 2005, the original Men's Quartet and Concert Choir allowed him to significantly develop an already exceptional voice. He made his acting debut in two Curtain Call productions, and served as Executive Vice President of the Student Government Association for two years.

Graduation time came and with his Music Education degree in hand, Stephen moved to New York City and began substitute teaching in all five boroughs. It was when he came back to his home state of Rhode Island, however, that he saw that his home church needed a music program, and he knew that had the skills and heart necessary for the task.

The church, Trinity Assembly of God in Johnston, Rhode Island, hired him as the Music Pastor and as the Music/Theater Director of Trinity Christian Academy. Stephen immediately got to work developing an entire music program, even adding a Christmas musical production and spring concert. Weekly, he teaches music classes, leads private voice and piano lessons, directs the adult and kids choirs at the church, and leads the worship team. "I wake up every morning and I love what I'm doing."

Enjoying his new role, Stephen wasn't expecting God to open up another door. But last August, at the 2010 Assemblies of God Fine Arts Festival, Stephen's sister introduced him to Brent Grosvenor, founder of a Christian theater company called Lights Up Productions www.lightsuptheater.com. Brent immediately knew that he had a role for Stephen to fill in his newest production. Stephen performed with the company for four nights in October 2010 as the lead role in Lost in Vegas, a musical. The experience was very fun, and Stephen looks forward to possibly joining them again.

Along with working at the church and occasionally with Lights Up Productions, Stephen is blessed to write music and tour with his family's band. This past April they performed during a Bruins game at Providence Civic Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
