Varsity Basketball has started at Valley Forge Christian College (VFCC)! What is perhaps the most anticipated sport season here on campus was ushered in with the Hersha Hospitality Tip-Off Classic. From November 15th to 17th, four men’s teams and four women’s teams participated in this exciting basketball tournament.
On opening night, VFCC won both games; each home opener ended with an impressive victory for our Patriots. The ladies defeated Grace Bible College in an exciting game, that ended with a final score of 68 – 63. In addition, the men dominated the court with a remarkable victory over The King’s College – winning the game by 61 points!
The Patriots went on to experience success throughout the rest of the tournament. The men’s team defeated Florida Christian College the following day, as the team played with an abundance of energy – sparked by Dominic Cain’s powerful slam dunk in the first half. On the final night of the tournament, the VFCC men fought hard in a closing match against Southeastern University – but came up short in what was their only loss of the tournament.
As VFCC continues in their first year of provisional NCAA membership, things are looking good for the Patriot Basketball squads. If you haven’t visited campus for a basketball game yet, be sure to check VFCCPatriots.com for the full schedule of upcoming games. Don’t miss any of the action taking place in the gymnasium this winter!
