A recent article titled “3 Reasons Christians Should Consider a Non-Christian College” in the popular Relevant Magazine sparked something inside of Peter Englert ’09, a former admissions counselor at Valley Forge Christian College. If there were three reasons that someone should attend a secular college, surely there must be equal reasons to attend a Christian College. Inspired, Englert wrote a counter article: “3 Reasons Christians Should Consider a Christian College” which was published in Relevant Magazine in January 2013.
Supporting VFCC is something that Englert has done well for many years. He first arrived on the campus in 2005 as a student, became involved as a leader on campus, and graduated with honors. For over three years after graduation, he served faithfully as an admissions counselor, helping hundreds of students make the decision to attend a Christian institution just as he did. His own personal experiences at VFCC were meaningful enough to be shared on a larger platform than he probably ever expected, as proven by his recently published article.
Englert recently relocated from VFCC to Northeastern Seminary in Rochester, New York, where he now serves as the director of admissions. He is engaged to Robyn Elliott, and the two are planning a fall 2013 wedding.
