Midnight Madness

Midnight Madness, hosted by the Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), is used as a means not only to kick off the basketball season but also to host a canned food drive that supports the Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS) organization. On Friday, October 18, the evening began at 10 pm with a performance by the step team, Explosive Kreations, followed by the introduction of the men's and women's basketball teams. Afterward the annual Blue vs. White scrimmage began – a game that allows a sneak peek of the men's basketball team as they compete with each other over two six-minute halves.

Later in the evening, the Staff vs. Faculty Patriot Cup game was held. Dr. Mortensen (Vice President of Development) led the staff team to a dramatic victory over Dr. Brubaker's (Professor of Church Ministries) faculty team. The evening ended with various player/fan competitions, including a half-court shot contest and a relay race. Senior Nick Meo was able to hit a free throw, a three-pointer, and long range shot within one minute, winning the grand prize of a 40" plasma television – donated by sponsor Citadel Bank – for his residence hall lounge in Beisel Hall.
